Hoagy Carmichael was one of the creators of jazz and many of his songs featured in the show are standards: "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening" (Academy Award winner, 1951), "Ole Buttermilk Sky," "Heart and Soul," and "Two Sleepy People."
The wistful "Skylark," "Georgia on My Mind," and the quintessential pop song of the 20th century, "Stardust," are among his best-known works.
